The Western University community is grieving the unexpected passing of Dr. Beth Hundey, a respected curriculum specialist, educator, and researcher. Dr. Hundey’s sudden departure has left a profound void among colleagues, students, and the broader academic community.

Dr. Hundey served as an eLearning and Curriculum Specialist at Western’s Centre for Teaching and Learning, where she was instrumental in enhancing curriculum design and integrating technology into the classroom. Her work supported learning at various levels, from individual lessons to comprehensive program designs.

In addition to her role at the Centre, Dr. Hundey was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography and Environment. She co-developed the course “Connecting for Climate Change Action,” which combined scientific understanding with storytelling and student reflection to inspire actionable change.

Dr. Hundey’s research interests included science communication training, curriculum mapping, blended curriculum design, and teaching in the natural sciences and geography. Her dedication to education and her students was evident in her innovative approaches and compassionate mentorship.
