Two Women, One Man Injured as Over 60 Shots Ring Out at Carlos Bar; Investigation Underway
ST. CROIX — A violent eruption of gunfire outside Carlos Bar in the early hours of Sunday morning has left three people wounded and prompted an urgent investigation by the Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD). Authorities say over 60 shell casings were recovered from the scene, indicating the scale and intensity of the incident.
According to the VIPD, the 911 Emergency Call Center received reports of shots fired near the popular nightlife spot at approximately 4:06 a.m. on June 8. Responding officers arrived to find the parking lot littered with spent shell casings, suggesting a prolonged and chaotic exchange of gunfire.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau were dispatched to the Juan F. Luis Hospital shortly after, where three victims—two adult women and one adult man—had already arrived by private vehicle. All three had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Hospital officials report that the victims are currently in stable condition.
Despite the large volume of gunfire and the serious injuries involved, police have yet to identify any suspects. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and no arrests have been made as of Sunday afternoon.
The VIPD is urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward. Tipsters can contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau at (340) 778-2211 or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS. All tips can be made anonymously.
