BETHANY, OK — A heartbreaking act of violence has left the Bethany community in mourning after 6-year-old Elizabeth Feaster was tragically shot and killed by her father, 29-year-old Billy Feaster, in an apparent murder-suicide on Sunday morning.
According to the Bethany Police Department, the tragedy unfolded during a scheduled visitation at a home near Northwest 42nd Street. Authorities report that Billy Feaster took his daughter to the backyard, where he fatally shot her before turning the weapon on himself. Family members, who were inside the house at the time, were alerted by the sound of gunfire but were unable to intervene in time.
Police continue to investigate the incident, including any potential history of domestic violence or mental health concerns. While the motive remains unclear, the event has sent shockwaves through the family and the broader community.
Elizabeth Feaster is remembered as a joyful, loving, and bright child whose life was full of promise. Her untimely and senseless death has left an indescribable void in the hearts of those who knew her.
“This is the kind of tragedy that words can’t begin to explain,” a family friend shared. “Elizabeth was bright, kind, and loved deeply. She had so much life left to live.”
Counseling and support services are being made available to Elizabeth’s family, local schools, and members of the community affected by the tragedy. A memorial in her honor is being planned by neighbors and loved ones as they come together to grieve and remember her short but meaningful life.
As the investigation continues, residents of Bethany are rallying around the Feaster family while also calling for greater awareness of mental health challenges, domestic safety, and the need for early intervention in volatile family situations.
