TOLEDO, Ohio — A devastating crash on Friday evening, July 4, 2025, has claimed the life of 22-year-old Alex Leonel, according to the Toledo Police Department. The collision occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. in the 3800 block of Airport Highway, near the intersection with Angola Road.
Authorities report that a 67-year-old driver, heading westbound, crossed the center line and collided head-on with the vehicle driven by Leonel. The impact was severe, and Leonel was ejected from his car. First responders arrived quickly but sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other individuals were also injured in the crash. Their identities and conditions have not yet been released, but they were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
