Tragedy on Highway 15: Fatal Crash Claims Life of Montgomery County Man in Vicco, KY

VICCO, KY – A tragic accident along Highway 15 in Vicco has left a community in mourning after a fatal head-on collision claimed the life of a Montgomery County man on Monday, April 21, 2025.

Authorities confirmed that 34-year-old Seth Edward Fawns died at the scene following the crash, which occurred near the intersection of Georges Branch, a stretch of roadway that residents say has long been known for its dangerous conditions.

According to initial reports, the collision involved two vehicles and resulted in significant damage, prompting an immediate emergency response from local fire, police, and medical personnel. Despite their efforts, Fawns was pronounced dead at the scene. The condition of the other driver involved has not been officially released.

The tragic incident has once again ignited serious concerns over the safety of Highway 15, a route many locals claim has been the site of several similar accidents in recent years. Longtime residents have voiced frustration over what they describe as a lack of improvements to road visibility, signage, and traffic control—particularly near hazardous intersections like Georges Branch.

“This isn’t the first time we’ve lost someone on this road,” said one nearby resident. “Every time we hear the sirens, we hold our breath. Something needs to change before more lives are lost.”

Local and state officials are expected to review the circumstances surrounding Monday’s crash and may reassess road safety measures in the area. Meanwhile, friends and family of Seth Fawns are left to grapple with the sudden and heartbreaking loss of a life gone far too soon.
