Tragedy at Riverwalk Park: 15-Year-Old Camden Boy Drowns in Accidental Incident
CAMDEN, AR — June 17, 2025 A devastating accident at Riverwalk Park has claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy from Camden, leaving the community heartbroken and in mourning.
At approximately 12:41 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, the Camden Police Department and Camden Fire Department were dispatched to Riverwalk Park following a report of a possible drowning near the dock area. Upon arrival, witnesses directed first responders to the section of the water where the teen was last seen.
Officers and fire personnel quickly entered the water and located the boy within five minutes. Life-saving measures were immediately initiated and continued during transport to Ouachita County Medical Center. Despite their best efforts, the young victim was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival at the hospital.
The identity of the teenager is being withheld at this time out of respect for his family, who are now facing an unimaginable loss.
The incident is currently being treated as an accidental drowning. The Camden Police Department has confirmed that an investigation remains ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
In a statement released by the department, officials expressed deep sorrow:
