Spartanburg County Mourns the Loss of Three Dorman High School Students
Spartanburg County, SC – April 2025
A wave of grief has swept through Dorman High School and the greater Spartanburg County community as they come to terms with a devastating tragedy. Three cherished students — Aben Sisk, Itzel Garcia-Trejo, and Daniel Diaz — lost their lives in a heartbreaking multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer on Tuesday. Their passing has left a silence in the halls of their school and a profound ache in the hearts of all who knew and loved them.
Aben, Itzel, and Daniel were more than students — they were friends, classmates, teammates, and leaders. Each brought their own light into the world: Aben with his curiosity and drive, Itzel with her compassion and warmth, and Daniel with his humor and generosity. Their potential was limitless, and their absence is a loss felt deeply not only by their families but by peers and educators alike.
The tragedy has sent shockwaves through Upstate South Carolina, prompting an outpouring of love, sorrow, and support. In the days ahead, the Dorman High community will gather to honor their memory, celebrate their lives, and lean on one another for strength and healing.
Our hearts are with the families of Aben, Itzel, and Daniel during this time of immense sorrow. May their memories be a blessing, and may the community find solace in unity and remembrance.
