RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. — A tragic crash at a busy Riviera Beach intersection has claimed the life of Christopher Du Prey, 59, who succumbed to his injuries days after the collision.
The incident occurred on June 29 at the intersection of Beeline Highway and Haverhill Road, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division. Du Prey was driving a Hyundai westbound on Beeline Highway and was attempting to turn south onto Haverhill Road.
At the same time, a GMC traveling eastbound on Beeline Highway in the inside lane entered the intersection. As both vehicles moved through, they collided at an angle, resulting in a violent impact.
Emergency responders rushed Du Prey, as well as the driver and passenger of the GMC, to St. Mary’s Medical Center for treatment. While the other individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries, Du Prey’s condition remained critical.
Tragically, on the morning of Tuesday, July 2, Du Prey was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the Sheriff’s Office has not released further details regarding potential contributing factors or charges.
Christopher Du Prey’s untimely passing has left his family and community in mourning. Friends remember him as a kind, humble man with a generous spirit and a warm heart. His death is a stark reminder of how quickly lives can be changed—or lost—on the road.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office as the investigation continues.
