A quiet night was shattered by gunfire just after 11:00 p.m. when officers on patrol in Annapolis heard multiple shots ring out near Tyler Avenue. Responding swiftly, police discovered Gregory Wells, critically wounded and bleeding in the 1300 block of the street.

Emergency services were called immediately, and Wells was rushed to Anne Arundel Medical Center. Despite life-saving efforts, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
