North Carolina Teen Arrested in Connection with Watson Avenue Shooting

LITTLE RIVER, SC —Authorities have taken a 16-year-old male from North Carolina into custody in connection with the Watson Avenue shooting that occurred on Sunday, May 25, 2025, in Little River, South Carolina. The arrest marks a significant development in an incident that shook the local community and left several individuals injured.

According to law enforcement, the juvenile suspect now faces a series of serious charges, including:

  • Eight counts of attempted murder
  • Possession of a weapon by a person prohibited by law
  • Possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime

The teen is being transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia, where he will be held as the judicial process proceeds. Due to his age, his identity is protected under state law, and authorities are not releasing further personal information at this time.

The shooting unfolded in a residential area on Watson Avenue, prompting an emergency response and a sweeping investigation by the Horry County Police Department.
