Late-Night Shooting in Visalia Ends with Two Arrests for Attempted Homicide
VISALIA, Calif. —
A chaotic scene unfolded just before midnight on Friday when a shooting in downtown Visalia led to the swift arrest of two suspects.
Officers stationed at the Visalia Police Department’s District 1 substation on NW 3rd Street reported hearing multiple gunshots nearby. Moments later, they observed a white Tesla speeding away from the area. The vehicle was quickly stopped, and inside were four individuals who told officers they had just come under fire.
An inspection revealed the Tesla had been struck several times by gunfire. Miraculously, none of the occupants sustained injuries.
The victims reported that the gunfire came from suspects on foot near the 200 block of NW 2nd Street. Officers responded immediately, securing the scene and detaining several individuals for questioning.
Following their investigation, police arrested 19-year-old David Cazares and 57-year-old Jaime Ramirez, both charged with attempted homicide. The suspects are now in custody as detectives continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
Authorities have not yet released information regarding a motive for the attack.
The Visalia Police Department urges anyone with information about the shooting to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
