April 21, 2025 – Age 50

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Shawn Douglas McCoin, who departed this life on April 21, 2025, at the age of 50. A beloved son, father, brother, and friend, Shawn leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished him.

Born and raised in Westmoreland, Tennessee, Shawn was a proud member of his community—a familiar face and a kind presence who brought a sense of calm and care wherever he went. He had a way of making people feel at ease, whether through a warm smile, a helping hand, or a quiet moment of understanding. He was a man of integrity, generosity, and deep loyalty to those he held close.

Shawn’s life was shaped by his love for family, his hard work, and his unwavering spirit. He enjoyed the simple things in life—time spent outdoors, good music, meaningful conversation, and the comfort of being surrounded by those he loved. His sense of humor and thoughtful nature were traits that endeared him to many. To his family, he was a steady foundation; to his friends, he was a trusted confidant.

As we reflect on Shawn’s journey, we remember a life well-lived—not in grand gestures or titles, but in the everyday kindnesses that define true character. He was someone who showed up, who cared deeply, and who found strength in the love he gave and received.

Shawn leaves behind a community of family and friends who mourn his loss deeply. During this time of grief, we encourage those who knew and loved him to send flowers, light a candle, and take a moment to share a memory in his honor. In these small but meaningful acts, we keep his spirit alive and offer comfort to one another in the midst of sorrow.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, followed by a memorial service from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home, where family, friends, and members of the community will gather to celebrate Shawn’s life, share stories, and say goodbye.

Please keep Shawn’s family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate the days ahead. Though his physical presence is no longer with us, the impact of his life—the memories, the love, the laughter—remains etched in our hearts forever.

Rest in peace, Shawn.
You are gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
