In Loving Memory of Richard Baldwin
A Cherished Colleague, Loyal Friend, and Irreplaceable Part of Our UHW Family

It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Richard Baldwin, who left us on April 18, 2025. The news of Richard’s sudden departure has sent ripples of grief throughout the UHW community, touching everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him, laughing with him, and learning from his kind and steady presence.

Richard was more than just a colleague — he was a cornerstone of our team, someone who showed up each day not just with professionalism and purpose, but with warmth, humility, and heart. Whether you knew him for years or only recently crossed paths, Richard had a way of making you feel valued and welcomed. His kindness wasn’t loud, but it was constant. His support wasn’t boastful, but it was unwavering.

In a field where days can be long and emotionally demanding, Richard brought lightness and calm. He was the one who remembered everyone’s birthday, who lent an ear after a hard shift, who brought humor into stressful moments, and who never hesitated to help — whether it was staying late to cover for someone else or offering his own lunch if someone needed it. His actions, never for recognition, were always grounded in genuine care.

Richard’s dedication to his work was exemplary. He took pride in everything he did and carried out his responsibilities with integrity, compassion, and excellence. Whether navigating complex challenges or simply offering words of encouragement, Richard led by example — with quiet strength and unwavering grace.

But beyond his professional contributions, what we’ll miss most is who Richard was as a person: dependable, thoughtful, deeply empathetic, and profoundly generous. He had a way of bringing people together, creating bonds of friendship and trust that extended beyond the workplace. Many of us considered him family.

As we grieve the loss of someone so deeply woven into the fabric of our everyday lives, we also honor and celebrate the time we shared with Richard. His memory will live on in the stories we tell, the lives he touched, and the enduring example he set for all of us — to live with kindness, to serve with heart, and to treat one another with dignity and love.

In support of Richard’s family during this incredibly difficult time, a GoFundMe page has been set up. We encourage those who are able to contribute and help ease the burden of unexpected expenses as we collectively mourn and uplift the loved ones Richard leaves behind. You can find the donation link [insert link here], and we thank you in advance for any support you can provide.

In the coming days, we will also be organizing a memorial gathering at UHW to give everyone an opportunity to share stories, honor Richard’s legacy, and find comfort in each other. More details will be shared shortly.

Though he may no longer walk these halls, Richard Baldwin’s spirit remains — in the friendships he forged, the compassion he gave so freely, and the countless lives he touched simply by being himself. His absence is deeply felt, but his impact will never fade.

Rest in peace, Richard. You will always be remembered, always be loved, and always be part of us.
