With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Michael B. Gonzalez, a cherished resident of New Baltimore, Michigan, who departed this life on April 20, 2025, at the age of 27. Michael’s vibrant spirit, unwavering kindness, and enduring legacy will continue to inspire and touch the lives of many.

Born and raised in New Baltimore, Michael was known for his infectious smile, generous heart, and boundless enthusiasm for life. He was a graduate of Anchor Bay High School, where he excelled academically and was an active member of the school’s community service club. Michael pursued higher education at Michigan State University, earning a degree in Environmental Science. His passion for nature and commitment to environmental conservation led him to work with local organizations dedicated to preserving Michigan’s natural beauty.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Michael was deeply involved in community outreach programs. He volunteered at local shelters, participated in neighborhood clean-up initiatives, and mentored youth through various after-school programs. Friends and family remember him as a beacon of positivity, always ready to lend a helping hand and uplift those around him.

Michael’s love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies. He enjoyed hiking in the state’s numerous trails, kayaking along Lake St. Clair, and photographing the scenic landscapes of Michigan. His artistic eye and appreciation for nature’s wonders were captured beautifully in his photography, which he often shared with friends and on social media.

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Linda Gonzalez; his sister, Emily Gonzalez; and his grandparents, Maria and Jorge Martinez. Michael also leaves behind a close-knit group of friends and extended family members who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.​

Visitation for Michael will be held on April 25th from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on April 26th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Gendernalik Funeral Home, located at 35259 Twenty-Three Mile Road, New Baltimore, MI 48047. A funeral service will follow on April 26th at 1:00 PM at St. Mary Queen of Creation Catholic Church, 50931 Maria Street, New Baltimore, MI 48047.​

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Michigan Environmental Council or a local charity of your choice in Michael’s memory. Please keep Michael’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.​in
