in Loving Memory of Jeremiah Donald Lothamer
Fort Wayne, Indiana
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the tragic passing of Jeremiah Donald Lothamer, who was taken from us far too soon at the age of 46. On a fateful day, Jeremiah was found bleeding on Hinton Drive, having been shot multiple times. Despite the valiant efforts of first responders who rushed him from the northwest Fort Wayne neighborhood, Jeremiah did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Jeremiah’s death is not just a loss to his family but to the entire community that will forever remember the man he was. A life cut short by violence, his untimely passing serves as a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the need for compassion, understanding, and peace.
In the moments following his shooting, law enforcement quickly pursued the fleeing suspect across two counties. The pursuit tragically ended just 20 minutes later near State Road 9, where gunfire erupted during the confrontation, and the suspect lost their life at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding Jeremiah’s death are deeply upsetting, and our thoughts are with his loved ones as they face this painful reality. Words can hardly begin to capture the sorrow felt by his family, who now must navigate the profound loss of a father, son, brother, and friend. We extend our deepest condolences and offer our support to them during this incredibly difficult time.
Jeremiah’s memory will live on through the love and kindness he shared, and through the impact he had on those who knew him. May his family find strength in each other and in the cherished memories of their time with him.
Jeremiah, you will be missed. May you rest in peace, and may your family feel the love and support of all those around them as they remember you.
