According to official reports, the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. when an officer approached a vehicle deemed suspicious in the empty park. Authorities say that during a physical struggle, Jabari pulled a firearm, prompting the officer to discharge his weapon. Jabari was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:06 p.m. No officers were injured. The State Bureau of Investigation is now leading an independent investigation, as per protocol.
