In Loving Memory of Everett Arthur Brown

With profound sadness and heavy hearts, the Shelby Township community mourns the tragic and untimely passing of Everett Arthur Brown, affectionately known as “Brownie Cakes.” Everett was just 15 years old when his vibrant life was cut short in an off-road vehicle (ORV) accident on July 4, 2025. What should have been a day of celebration became a moment of unimaginable loss for all who knew and loved him.

Everett was a bright light—adventurous, spirited, and full of joy. His infectious smile and warm personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was curious about the world, kind-hearted, and always eager to explore. Whether racing through the woods, spending time with family, or making his friends laugh, Everett lived life with energy and love that radiated from within.

He is the cherished son of Olivia & Nick Belz and Jason Brown, and the devoted brother of Saylor Belz, Jayla Brown, and Elaina Brown. He was the beloved grandson of Susan & Stephen Horne and Star & Mark Belz, and the treasured nephew of Kelly Thomas, Joe Thomas, Tyler Horne, Tim & Maria Belz, Pete Belz, and Meghan Scaccia. Everett is also remembered fondly by many cousins, extended family members, and countless dear friends whose lives he touched in ways that will never be forgotten.

Everett’s short life was filled with laughter, courage, compassion, and a sense of wonder. His passion for the outdoors, his love for his family, and his genuine, easygoing nature made him someone others naturally gravitated toward. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the blessing of knowing him.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A funeral service will follow on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at:
Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc. (Shelby Township)
54880 Van Dyke at 25 Mile Road

Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and messages of love through the online guestbook on the funeral home’s website.

Though Everett’s time on earth was far too brief, the love he gave and the joy he brought will remain with us always.

Rest peacefully, Brownie Cakes.
You were one of a kind, and your spirit will forever echo in our hearts.
