In Loving Memory of Dylan Kemp — Beloved Husband, Father, and Friend
Lake Odessa, MI | June 17, 2025 The town of Lake Odessa is mourning the heartbreaking and sudden loss of Dylan Kemp, a devoted husband, a proud father of two, and a friend whose presence brought light, laughter, and warmth to everyone he encountered. Dylan tragically lost his life in a construction-site accident, leaving a deep void in the lives of his family and the community that loved him so dearly.
Dylan is survived by his loving wife, Alyssa, and their two young children, who were his greatest pride and joy. He also leaves behind a close and devoted extended family, including Chari, Kirt, Amanda, and Hunter, all of whom were blessed by his steadfast love, his sense of humor, and his unwavering support.
A lifelong resident of Lake Odessa, Dylan was born in Detroit and raised in the heart of this close-knit town. He graduated from Lakewood High School, where he began to shape the values that would guide him throughout his life: hard work, compassion, humility, and a fierce loyalty to those he cared about.
Those who knew Dylan remember a man whose presence was both grounding and uplifting. Whether on the job or among friends, Dylan approached life with a blend of tireless dedication and an easygoing charm that made others feel instantly welcome. He had a big heart, a quick wit, and an uncanny ability to brighten even the darkest day with a perfectly timed joke or a few kind words.
“He had a wild, kind spirit and could lift anyone’s mood,” one close friend reflected. “Dylan was the kind of person who made you feel like family—whether you knew him for a day or a decade.”
In his professional life, Dylan brought integrity, grit, and a quiet strength to every task. He wasn’t just a hard worker—he was someone others could rely on, someone who made every job site feel safer, lighter, and more connected.
Beyond his work, Dylan was a passionate sportsman, well known for his love of softball and his spirited competitiveness on the field. He played not for glory, but for camaraderie—for the joy of the game and the friendships it fostered. In tribute to his enduring presence on and off the field, local players will wear custom jerseys adorned with his number, 24—a gesture that symbolizes not only his love for the game but also the mark he left on those who played beside him.
Dylan Kemp’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and loyalty. He was a man who showed up for others, who never hesitated to help, who gave generously of his time, his energy, and his heart. He lived his life fully, and though his time here was far too short, he leaves behind a memory that will endure through stories shared, games played in his honor, and the countless lives he touched.
As the Lake Odessa community comes together in grief, it also stands united in love—in remembrance of a man who meant so much to so many.
Rest easy, Dylan. Your spirit lives on in every heart you touched. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
