In Loving Memory of Cooper Hill

In Loving Memory of Cooper Hill

It is with profound sadness and heartbreak that we share the passing of one of our beloved students, 15-year-old Cooper Hill. Cooper passed away on Friday, June 20, leaving behind a wave of grief that has swept through Lee Academy and the wider Marianna community. This loss is felt deeply by all who knew and loved him.

Cooper was more than a student—he was a bright light in our school and in the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. His presence was one of joy, kindness, and authenticity. Known for his warm smile, his easygoing spirit, and his genuine heart, Cooper made everyone feel like a friend. He was the kind of young man who could brighten a room with just a few words or a quick grin—always approachable, always kind, and always full of life.

To his peers, Cooper was a loyal friend and a dependable “buddy” who never hesitated to offer a helping hand or a listening ear. To his teachers and mentors, he was a respectful and engaged student—curious, capable, and driven by a desire to do well and be his best. He was loved not only for what he did but for who he was: humble, thoughtful, and caring.

Cooper had a deep love for his family and friends. His bond with his loved ones was unbreakable and evident in everything he did. He spoke with pride about those closest to him, and he carried their love with him wherever he went. His devotion to those around him was a reflection of the values instilled in him and the kindness that radiated from his core.

He was also passionate about basketball—a sport that brought out his competitive edge, his teamwork, and his joy. On the court, Cooper played with heart and determination. Off the court, he inspired others with his dedication and support for his teammates. Basketball wasn’t just a game for Cooper—it was a part of who he was.

In addition to his athletic spirit, Cooper had a special place in his heart for all things country. He loved country music, the outdoors, and the simplicity of a life rooted in tradition and family. Whether it was a song that told a good story, a quiet moment under the open sky, or just being with those he loved most, Cooper found beauty in life’s most genuine moments.

His passing is an immeasurable loss, not only to the Hill family but to everyone at Lee Academy and throughout Marianna. We stand together in mourning, united in sorrow but also in gratitude for the time we had with Cooper. Even in this pain, we choose to remember him not only for how he left us, but for how fully and beautifully he lived.

To the Hill family: our hearts are with you. We extend our deepest condolences and lift you up in prayer and support. May you find comfort in knowing that Cooper was deeply loved by so many, and that his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

To our students, staff, and community: let us hold each other close during this incredibly difficult time. Let us honor Cooper’s life by living with the same kindness, compassion, and strength that he showed every day. Let us remember him not with sadness alone, but with love and appreciation for all he gave us.

Cooper Hill’s time with us was far too short, but the impact he made will last forever. We will never forget his smile, his spirit, and the light he brought to our lives.

Rest in peace, Cooper. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
