In Loving Memory
Jimmy McIntosh, Hannah Wasserman, and Maisey O’Donnell
Prayers for Lauren Costa
What was supposed to be a joyful spring break road trip—filled with laughter, freedom, and the carefree moments that mark the threshold between youth and adulthood—turned into an unimaginable tragedy on a Florida highway.
On the night of [date, if available], at approximately 9:28 p.m., a tractor-trailer made a U-turn across the road. In an instant, an SUV carrying four vibrant 18-year-olds collided with it, changing countless lives forever.
Jimmy McIntosh, Hannah Wasserman, and Maisey O’Donnell were pronounced dead at the scene. Each of them brought light and energy to the world around them, and the suddenness of their passing has left a deep wound in the hearts of family, friends, classmates, and communities across state lines.
Lauren Costa, the fourth passenger, remains in critical condition, and we hold her in our hearts as she fights for recovery. The road ahead for Lauren and her loved ones will be long and uncertain, and they need every ounce of strength, love, and support we can give.
These young lives—on the cusp of adulthood, chasing dreams, planning futures, and simply enjoying the freedom of a break from school—deserved so much more. They deserved sunrises and birthdays, new experiences, and the laughter of growing old with friends they had known since childhood. Instead, their families received a phone call no parent, no sibling, no friend should ever have to answer.
Jimmy, known for his adventurous spirit and kindness.
Hannah, remembered for her infectious laugh and fierce loyalty.
Maisey, beloved for her compassion and artistic soul.
Each one was deeply loved, and each leaves behind a legacy that their families and communities will carry forward with love and pain intertwined.
We cannot take away the heartbreak or undo the moment that changed everything. But we can remember them—not just for how they died, but for how they lived. We can support Lauren and her family with unwavering hope. We can hold tighter to those we love, and we can continue to speak the names of Jimmy, Hannah, and Maisey—keeping their stories alive in our hearts and conversations.
To the families of these four young people: our deepest, most sincere sympathies. The grief you are walking through is unimaginable, and you are not alone. Communities near and far are mourning with you, standing with you, and sending prayers that comfort finds its way to you somehow.
Rest in peace, Jimmy, Hannah, and Maisey.
Stay strong, Lauren. We’re with you.
