HOUSTON — Tragic Crash Claims Life of 22-Year-Old Angel Gamino on Highway 90

The Houston community is mourning the loss of 22-year-old Angel Gamino, who was tragically killed in a single-vehicle crash on Friday evening, June 6, 2025. The fatal accident occurred just after 8:00 p.m. on the inbound lanes of U.S. Highway 90, near the Mercury Drive exit.

Accident Details

According to a statement released by the Houston Police Department, Gamino was driving a silver GMC Yukon westbound on the highway when, for reasons still under investigation, the SUV veered off the roadway. Authorities say the vehicle drifted to the right, exited the traffic lanes, and plunged into a roadside ditch before overturning and coming to rest near the edge of the highway.

Emergency responders arrived swiftly at the scene. Despite their efforts, Angel Gamino was pronounced dead on site. He was the only person inside the vehicle.

Investigation Continues

At this time, it remains unclear what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway. Investigators are working to determine whether speed, mechanical failure, distraction, or other factors played a role. No other vehicles were involved, and there is no indication of foul play. The investigation is being led by the Houston Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Division.
