Honoring the Life of Lachlan McQuivey
The Brigham Young University–Hawaiʻi (BYU–H) community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of freshman Lachlan McQuivey, a bright and promising student from Massachusetts whose life was tragically cut short. His sudden passing has sent waves of grief throughout the campus in Lāʻie, touching the hearts of classmates, professors, and friends alike.
Lachlan was more than a student — he was a light to those around him. Known for his warmth, kindness, and uplifting spirit, he quickly became a cherished part of the BYU–H ʻohana. Though he had only just begun his college journey, his presence made a lasting impression that will not be forgotten.
The loss of such a vibrant and caring young man has left a void in the lives of many. As the community comes together to grieve, we also celebrate the time we were blessed to share with Lachlan and the legacy of love, faith, and friendship he leaves behind.
