Authorities Search for Two Persons of Interest in Glenburn Shooting; Victim in Critical Condition
GLENBURN, MAINE —The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for two individuals in connection with a shooting in Glenburn on Monday afternoon that left one person in critical condition.
Officials have identified 43-year-old Brandon Harvey and 44-year-old Tonya Moniz, both of Glenburn, as persons of interest in the case. Authorities are urging the public not to approach either individual, as both are considered dangerous and potentially armed.
The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on McCarty Road, prompting an emergency response from law enforcement and medical personnel. According to investigators, one person was shot and remains in critical condition at a local hospital, while another individual sustained minor injuries.
Investigators believe the shooting was not random, and that the suspect is known to the victims. After the shooting, the suspect reportedly fled the scene on foot. A vehicle believed to be linked to the incident was later discovered in Bangor, but Harvey and Moniz remain unaccounted for.
The motive behind the shooting has not been publicly disclosed, and officials are continuing to process the scene and gather evidence. Detectives are working to determine the exact sequence of events and the roles Harvey and Moniz may have played in the violence.
