Fruitland Man Arrested in Connection with Death Investigation

Wicomico County, MD — The Maryland State Police have announced the arrest of Brandt John Roberts, 40, of Fruitland, Maryland, in connection with an ongoing death investigation.

Authorities say the investigation began around 6:30 p.m. on April 25, when officers from the Fruitland Police Department responded to a residence in the 200 block of Camden Avenue. Upon arrival, they found 27-year-old Albert Joseph Vacovsky III, also of Fruitland, deceased inside the home.

Following a coordinated investigation led by the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit, and with support from the Fruitland and Salisbury Police Departments, Roberts was identified as a suspect. He has since been charged with first- and second-degree murder and is currently being held at the Wicomico County Detention Center.

Law enforcement officials have not yet released further details about the circumstances surrounding the incident, as the investigation remains active.
