Fatal Motorcycle Crash Under Investigation in Lafayette Parish

LAFAYETTE PARISH, La. — Authorities are actively investigating a tragic two-vehicle crash that occurred early yesterday morning on Louisiana Highway 339, near its intersection with Simon Road. The collision involved a motorcycle and resulted in the death of one individual and injuries to another.

According to the Louisiana State Police, the crash claimed the life of Dustin Ayo, 42, of Thibodaux. Preliminary investigations indicate that Ayo was operating a 2025 Suzuki motorcycle at the time of the crash.

Emergency personnel responded quickly to the scene, but despite their efforts, Ayo succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. A second individual involved in the crash sustained injuries, though the extent of those injuries has not yet been disclosed.

The circumstances surrounding the collision—including potential contributing factors—remain under investigation. Authorities have not released further details about the other vehicle involved or whether impairment or speed played a role in the crash.
