Deadly Shooting in Heavener Leaves One Dead, One Critically Injured
HEAVENER, OK — A tragic shooting incident in the early hours of Tuesday, June 11, has left one person dead and another in critical condition, shaking the small community of Heavener.
Authorities confirm that the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is now assisting the Choctaw Nation Lighthorse Police in an active investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
The violence unfolded at an apartment complex along State Highway 128 around 1:00 a.m., where officers responded to reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found 20-year-old Dylan McGee deceased at the scene. A 21-year-old woman was also discovered suffering from gunshot wounds and was rushed to a nearby hospital. As of 6:45 p.m. Tuesday evening, she was reported to be in critical condition and fighting for her life.
Details about what led to the shooting remain limited. OSBI officials have confirmed that no suspects are currently at large, but have not yet disclosed whether any arrests have been made.
