Authorities Identify Deceased Man Found Near Mojave Riverwalk Trail in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, CA – June 19, 2025 — A tragic discovery near the Mojave Riverwalk Trail has deepened concerns in the Victor Valley area, as officials confirm the identity of a man found dead along a dirt path near Eva Dell Park.

Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to a medical aid call at approximately 9:39 a.m. on June 19, 2025, after a passerby reported an unresponsive individual near the park in Old Town Victorville. Upon arrival, deputies found the man lying along the dirt trail adjacent to the park, unresponsive and without any visible signs of trauma.

The deceased has since been identified as 38-year-old Michael Colquitt. His city of residence remains unknown, and authorities are actively investigating how and why he came to be in the area.

The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office arrived at the scene and officially removed Colquitt’s body by 12:45 p.m. on Thursday. At this time, the cause of death remains undetermined, pending the results of a full autopsy. While investigators have not found immediate signs of foul play, the circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.

No personal belongings or identification were recovered at the scene, other than the clothing Colquitt was wearing. Law enforcement officials are continuing to piece together the timeline leading up to his death, hoping that further forensic analysis or tips from the public may shed light on what happened.

This case adds to a troubling pattern of unexplained deaths in the Victor Valley region in recent months, prompting heightened awareness and concern among residents. While authorities have not linked Colquitt’s death to any previous incidents, the community remains on edge.
