“I Was Sober When I Was Shot Outside Born’s Bar” — A Young Mother’s Plea for Justice

ST. PAUL, MN — What should have been a peaceful family evening turned into a life-altering nightmare for 22-year-old Lex Rogers, a devoted mother, who is now fighting for justice and recovery after being shot five times outside Born’s Bar on Rice Street in St. Paul.

Lex had just taken her 2-year-old daughter to Chuck E. Cheese and McDonald’s, enjoying a wholesome evening together. Later, she drove to Born’s Bar, not for a night out — but simply to pick up her mother. She never stepped foot outside of her vehicle.

“I was sober. I haven’t smoked in two years. I quit drinking two months ago,” Lex stated. “I stayed in my car the entire time. I was just trying to go home.”

But her night took a horrifying turn.

As she sat in her vehicle with her daughter, a car pulled up beside her. Sensing danger, Lex began to plead. She told them her child was in the car. She begged them not to shoot. But her pleas were ignored. The gunman opened fire — five shots were fired, and every single one hit her.

    Stomach. Shoulder. Back. Side. Thigh.

She was bleeding, in agony, but she remained conscious until doctors put her under for emergency surgery.

Today, Lex is 22 years old, learning how to walk again. She’s eating through a tube, recovering with a colostomy bag, and unable to care for her child the way she once could. She is living proof of survival, but also a symbol of injustice — because no one has been held accountable.

“I am a mother. I did not deserve this,” Lex said. “My baby was in the car, right next to me. I begged them. They didn’t care.”

The trauma of that night lives with her. Every day is a battle. And while she fights to heal physically and emotionally, the individuals responsible for the shooting remain free.

This was a targeted, unprovoked, and vicious attack on a young woman who was doing nothing more than being a mother — showing up for her child and family.

“I’m only 22. I should be at home with my daughter, holding her, teaching her, loving her. Instead, I’m stuck in a hospital bed, trying to survive.”

Lex’s story is more than a tragedy — it’s a call to action. A plea for help. She is begging the community to come forward.

“If anyone knows anything — anything at all — please speak up. I need justice. My daughter needs her mother. This wasn’t right, and I refuse to stay silent.”

Lex Rogers deserves answers. She deserves justice. Her daughter deserves a mother who isn’t haunted by fear and unanswered questions.

If you witnessed the shooting or have any information about the incident near Born’s Bar on Rice Street in St. Paul, please contact local authorities or Crime Stoppers. You can remain anonymous.

This young woman fought to live — now help her fight to be heard.

  • Dutchess Dior Reportedly Killed by Husband ‘The Frenchman’ After Facebook Live Dispute — Final Plea for Help Ignored

Dutchess Dior Reportedly Killed by Husband ‘The Frenchman’ After Facebook Live Dispute — Final Plea for Help Ignored

Dutchess Dior Reportedly Killed by Husband ‘The Frenchman’ After Facebook Live Dispute — Final Plea for Help Ignored

A tragic and deeply disturbing case of domestic violence has sent shockwaves across the country after beloved social media personality and young mother, Dutchess Dior, was reportedly killed by her husband — known online as “The Frenchman” — following a heated dispute that played out in real-time on Facebook Live. The killing, which took place just days after the couple welcomed a newborn baby, has stirred outrage, heartbreak, and renewed calls for serious reform in how domestic violence is identified, reported, and prevented.

A Public Plea for Help That Was Tragically Ignored

In what has now become a chilling prelude to her final hours, Dutchess Dior appeared on Facebook Live in an emotional broadcast, pleading for help. Her voice shook as she looked into the camera and said words that now haunt her followers: “If something happens to me, please tell my story. I don’t feel safe.”

Despite the urgency in her voice, no emergency response followed. The comments section was flooded with concerned viewers urging her to leave, call police, or seek shelter. But like so many victims of intimate partner violence, Dior’s situation was more complex than what could be seen on screen. Friends later confirmed she felt trapped, financially and emotionally, with a newborn and no safe place to go.

Hours after the live video ended, police responded to a welfare call at the couple’s residence. Inside, they found Dutchess Dior dead. Her newborn baby was found nearby, physically unharmed — but now motherless.

The Man Known as “The Frenchman”

The suspect, known on social media as “The Frenchman,” had frequently appeared in Dior’s videos. Their relationship, once portrayed as romantic and passionate, had become increasingly toxic and volatile in recent months, according to close friends. Public arguments and cryptic posts had raised concerns, but few could have imagined how tragically it would end.

“The Frenchman” is currently the subject of a manhunt. Authorities believe he fled shortly after the killing, and he is considered armed and dangerous. An arrest warrant has been issued, and law enforcement agencies across state lines have joined in the search. His social media accounts have since been taken down, but not before clips of previous disputes and controlling behavior were circulated widely online.

    An All-Too-Familiar Pattern of Abuse

Friends of Dior have come forward to confirm that behind her confident and joyful social media presence was a woman living in fear. One friend said, “She tried so hard to make things work. She stayed for the baby. She stayed because she didn’t want to be alone. But she knew he was dangerous.”

There had reportedly been multiple red flags — verbal abuse, jealousy, threats — yet no criminal charges were ever filed. It’s unclear whether she had formally reported any incidents to law enforcement. Advocates argue that Dior’s death reflects a broader failure in how society addresses non-physical forms of abuse and coercive control, which often go overlooked until violence turns fatal.

A Life Remembered, A Legacy Silenced

Dutchess Dior, known for her infectious laugh, unfiltered honesty, and motivational content, had built a growing platform focused on motherhood, healing from trauma, and self-love. She connected with thousands of women who saw in her both strength and vulnerability. Many say they turned to her videos for hope during their own darkest moments.

“She gave so much of herself to her community,” said one longtime follower. “It hurts that in her moment of need, no one could save her.”

The young mother leaves behind several children, including her newborn baby. A fundraising campaign has been launched to help support her family and provide care for her children.

Calls for Change: “She Deserved to Be Believed”

Dior’s death has reignited national conversation about domestic violence and the urgent need for systemic change. Across social media, users are demanding justice using hashtags like #JusticeForDutchess and #BelieveWomen. Advocates are calling for:

    • Greater protection and resources for victims who share warning signs online
    • Improved emergency response to digital cries for help
    • Expanded services for postpartum mothers in abusive relationships
    • Harsher penalties for abusers with histories of manipulation or psychological abuse

“Dutchess Dior didn’t die in silence — she died after screaming for help,” said one women’s rights advocate. “The world was watching. And now, the world must act.”

    What Comes Next

Authorities continue to search for Dior’s husband, urging anyone with information on his location to contact law enforcement immediately. Vigils are being held across several cities in her honor, as her supporters gather to grieve, pray, and push for action.

In memory of Dutchess Dior, her family and followers vow to turn pain into purpose. Though her life was stolen in an act of brutality, her voice — once full of hope, laughter, and resilience — will not be silenced.

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, help is available 24/7. Call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) or text “START” to 88788. You are not alone.

  • In Loving Memory of Master Police Officer Dale Barbiea, Badge #211

In Loving Memory of Master Police Officer Dale Barbiea, Badge #211

In Loving Memory of Master Police Officer Dale Barbiea, Badge #211

BOWLING GREEN, KY — With deep sorrow and unwavering respect, the Bowling Green Police Department, along with the entire Kentucky law enforcement community, announces the passing of Master Police Officer Dale Barbiea, Badge 211. After a courageous battle with cancer, MPO Barbiea passed away on the morning of June 14, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family, friends, and fellow officers.

Dale Barbiea was more than just a police officer—he was the heart of the department, a steadfast friend, and a guiding light to many. His career in law enforcement began in Jackson, Tennessee, before he joined the Bowling Green Police Department in January 2008, where he served with distinction for over 17 years. During his time at BGPD, Dale worked as a Patrol Officer, a K9 handler, and became the longest-tenured Crisis Negotiator on the force.

He was known throughout Kentucky for his unwavering commitment to those in crisis. Dale’s compassion and patience were unmatched, and his ability to defuse tense and emotional situations earned him the distinguished honor of Kentucky CIT Officer of the Year, a recognition that reflected the depth of his care for the most vulnerable in our community.

But Dale’s impact extended far beyond his badge.

A proud Louisville native, Dale never lost the spirit of the cowboy he once was. A former rodeo rider, he spoke often of his bull-riding days with humor and pride, his championship belt buckles shining reminders of his grit, determination, and larger-than-life personality. That same toughness carried him through the most difficult parts of his career and his illness, but it was his gentle nature that endeared him to so many.

Dale was a man who showed up. Whether it was helping a fellow officer move furniture, mowing a lawn, checking on an elderly neighbor, or quietly delivering meals to someone in need—he did it without asking for thanks. He was known to fix broken appliances for community members, cover the cost of repairs out of his own pocket, and spend his days off making sure others were okay.

To the children of the BGPD family, Dale was “Uncle Dale.” He made time to spoil them, to attend birthday parties, to offer encouragement. Even during his most difficult days, Dale was checking in, making sure the kids of his department family were happy and cared for.

Dale Barbiea’s laughter, his stories, and his infectious opinions about food—especially barbecue—will never be forgotten. He was the kind of person whose presence made the world feel a little safer, a little kinder, and a lot more human.

As we mourn the loss of our beloved colleague and friend, we also celebrate the incredible legacy he leaves behind. His memory will live on in the lives he saved, the families he touched, and the department he helped shape with his generosity and wisdom.

Rest in peace, Hoss. Your work is done, but your legacy will live on.

  • BREAKING: Minnesota Lawmakers Shot in Targeted Home Attacks — Suspect Impersonated Police Officer, Manhunt Underway

BREAKING: Minnesota Lawmakers Shot in Targeted Home Attacks — Suspect Impersonated Police Officer, Manhunt Underway

BREAKING: Minnesota Lawmakers Shot in Targeted Home Attacks — Suspect Impersonated Police Officer, Manhunt Underway

CHAMPLIN & BROOKLYN PARK, MN — June 14, 2025 — In a deeply disturbing and unprecedented act of violence, two Democratic lawmakers in Minnesota were shot in separate, targeted attacks inside their homes overnight. Authorities confirm that State Senator John Hoffman of Champlin and State Representative Melissa Hortman of Brooklyn Park were among those injured when a gunman posing as a police officer forced his way into their residences and opened fire.

The attacks occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, and have left at least three people injured — Senator Hoffman and his partner in Champlin, and Representative Hortman along with another potential victim in Brooklyn Park. Emergency services responded swiftly to both scenes, and the victims were transported to area hospitals. Their current conditions have not been publicly disclosed, though sources say all are receiving critical care.

Law enforcement believes the suspect impersonated a police officer to gain access to the homes, wearing body armor over a blue uniform-style outfit, in what officials are calling a highly organized and deliberate attack.

    Massive Manhunt Underway

Authorities have launched a full-scale manhunt for the shooter, who remains at large. He is described as a white male with brown hair, last seen wearing body armor over a blue outfit. Law enforcement has issued a shelter-in-place order for residents within a three-mile radius of Edinburgh Golf Course, and are urging the public to remain vigilant.

“This suspect is considered armed and extremely dangerous,” the Minnesota Department of Public Safety warned. “Do not approach him under any circumstances. If you see someone matching this description, call 911 immediately.”

Governor Walz: “An Attack on Our Democracy”

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz issued a statement following an early morning briefing with state and local law enforcement officials.

“These targeted attacks on two public servants are more than acts of violence — they are direct assaults on our democracy,” said Walz. “We are working closely with state and local partners to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice, and that our elected officials and communities remain safe.”

Governor Walz also emphasized the importance of remaining calm but alert, and reassured Minnesotans that law enforcement agencies at every level are fully engaged.

    Active Investigation Underway

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) and federal partners including the FBI are assisting in the investigation. Forensic teams are processing both crime scenes, and officials are reviewing security footage, collecting witness statements, and working to uncover the shooter’s motive.

At this stage, investigators have not confirmed whether the attacks were politically motivated or driven by another motive. However, sources close to the case indicate the attacks appear to have been planned and coordinated.

The shooter’s use of police impersonation tactics has heightened fears and prompted calls for increased security for elected officials across the state.

    Community in Shock

The political community in Minnesota is reeling from the attacks. Both Senator Hoffman and Representative Hortman are veteran lawmakers who have served their districts with distinction. Hortman is a former Speaker of the Minnesota House and a prominent figure in state politics; Hoffman is known for his leadership on healthcare, education, and disability rights.

“This is horrifying and unacceptable,” said one state lawmaker. “We are praying for John and Melissa, and for everyone affected. These are people who have dedicated their lives to serving others. This kind of violence has no place in Minnesota.”

Public Urged to Help with Investigation

Authorities are asking residents and businesses near Champlin, Brooklyn Park, and Edinburgh Golf Course to review any home surveillance or dashcam footage from late Friday night into early Saturday morning.

“If you saw anything suspicious — a person, vehicle, or unusual activity — please contact authorities immediately,” said a spokesperson for the BCA. “Even small details could prove critical.”

    What Comes Next

A press conference is expected later today to provide further updates on the victims’ conditions, the status of the investigation, and steps being taken to protect other elected officials. As law enforcement continues the urgent search for the suspect, state officials are asking Minnesotans to stand together in calm, vigilance, and resolve.

If you have any information or video footage that may assist the investigation, please contact the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension or your local police department immediately. Do not attempt to confront or apprehend the suspect. Call 911 if you see any suspicious activity.

  • Jordan Perkins Back in Custody After High-Speed Chase Weeks After Murder Acquittal

Jordan Perkins Back in Custody After High-Speed Chase Weeks After Murder Acquittal

Jordan Perkins Back in Custody After High-Speed Chase Weeks After Murder Acquittal

AUGUSTA, GA — Just three weeks after being acquitted in a high-profile murder case, 20-year-old Jordan James Perkins is once again behind bars—this time for charges stemming from a high-speed chase that spanned two counties and ended with the recovery of a discarded firearm.

According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Trentin Edgemon attempted to stop a white Chevrolet Malibu around 7:04 p.m. Friday near GA Highway 25 North and Hephzibah McBean Road. Initially appearing to comply, the driver suddenly accelerated, initiating a pursuit that would stretch into Burke County.

As the chase unfolded, officers observed an object—later identified as a firearm—being thrown from the vehicle. Law enforcement from both Richmond and Burke counties coordinated the pursuit. It finally came to an end when RCSO Corporal Tim Smith conducted a PIT (Precision Immobilization Technique) maneuver just past Greiner Circle, safely bringing the vehicle to a halt.

The driver, confirmed to be Jordan Perkins, was taken into custody without further incident. A search of the area where the object was thrown, supported by in-car dash camera footage, led to the recovery of the firearm.

Perkins now faces multiple charges, including felony fleeing and eluding, and several traffic-related offenses. Additional charges related to the firearm may follow as the investigation continues. He is currently being held at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center.

This latest arrest comes on the heels of Perkins’ acquittal in May 2025 for a 2022 shooting at an unlicensed bar on Claxton Road in Girard, which left one man—34-year-old Dereck Hilton—dead and four others injured. At the time, law enforcement described the bar as a hotspot for violence and criminal activity. Perkins was captured in December 2022 after a SWAT standoff in North Augusta and had faced serious charges before a jury found him not guilty.

Friday’s incident underscores the lingering concerns surrounding individuals recently released from custody following major trials. Authorities say the investigation into this most recent case remains active and are urging the public to come forward with any additional information.

As this case develops, local residents and law enforcement alike are left asking whether this was an isolated lapse—or a sign of deeper, unresolved patterns of behavior.
