A Heartbreaking Loss: Remembering Joeylin McDonald
On the evening of Friday, April 18, 2025, tragedy struck in Pueblo, Colorado, when 13-year-old Joeylin Kenley McDonald fell approximately 25 feet through the attic floor of the Rocky Mountain SER after-school program. Despite the swift arrival of emergency responders, Joeylin succumbed to her injuries at the scene. She had been attending the program with other children when the incident occurred.
The Pueblo Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the fall. At this time, it remains unclear how Joeylin accessed the attic space. Authorities have not yet determined whether the incident was accidental or if foul play was involved
Joeylin’s untimely death has left her family and the community in profound grief. Known for her vibrant spirit and love for life, Joeylin’s passing is felt deeply by all who knew her. Her family is receiving support from the community during this incredibly difficult time.
The Rocky Mountain SER after-school program, where the incident occurred, is a part of the local network of after-school facilities that provide educational enrichment and supervision for children.
