Homicide Investigation Underway in Jefferson County
Birmingham, AL – April 22, 2025
Authorities in Jefferson County are investigating a tragic homicide that claimed the life of 37-year-old Franklyn Isaac Ochoa Corea, a resident of Birmingham. According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Corea was fatally shot on April 22 in the 5300 block of Ruby Carson Road.
Deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department responded swiftly to the scene, where they found Corea suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to render aid, he was pronounced dead shortly after discovery. The violent nature of the attack has shocked the local community, prompting a thorough investigation by law enforcement.
