Tragedy struck early Monday morning in Lexington County when 70-year-old Christopher Areheart lost his life in a single-vehicle crash. Around 8:25 a.m., Christopher was driving alone along Nazareth Road near Robert Hendrix Road when his 2000 Chevrolet SUV suddenly veered off the roadway. After striking a utility pole, the vehicle continued on before slamming into a tree. He remained buckled in his seat, but the impact proved fatal. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
