One Person in Critical Condition After Overnight Shooting in Wellston

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — A peaceful Sunday night in Wellston was shattered by violence after a shooting at Trojan Park left one person critically injured.

According to the North County Police Cooperative, officers responded to the scene around 1:30 a.m. following reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The individual was rushed to a nearby hospital, where they remain in critical condition.

Trojan Park, typically a place for community gatherings and recreation, became the scene of a serious crime that has left residents shaken. Police immediately secured the area and began canvassing for evidence and witnesses.

At this time, authorities have not released the victim’s identity, and no arrests have been made. Investigators are working to determine what led to the shooting and whether the suspect or suspects remain in the area.

The incident is part of a troubling pattern of gun violence that has impacted neighborhoods across the region. Community members and law enforcement are urging anyone with information to come forward.
