In Loving Memory of Dixie Lynn Moore
Portland, Oregon
Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Friend
May 2, 2025
With broken hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the unexpected passing of Dixie Lynn Moore on May 2, 2025, in Portland, Oregon. A loving mother, devoted grandmother, and compassionate soul, Dixie left this world surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and resilience.
Dixie was the kind of person who made others feel at home. Her gentle spirit, sharp wit, and quiet strength were just a few of the qualities that defined her. Even in the face of immense challenges brought on by a progressive illness, she continued to live with dignity, humor, and grace—never letting her circumstances dampen the joy she shared with those around her.
She was a dedicated and selfless mother and grandmother, whose love knew no bounds. Family was everything to Dixie, and her greatest pride was watching her children and grandchildren grow, learn, and thrive. She offered unconditional love, a listening ear, and always had just the right words to bring comfort or laughter.
One of the most defining parts of Dixie’s life was her deep love for animals, especially primates and Chihuahuas. Her compassion for the voiceless and vulnerable ran deep. She cared for her pets like family and found profound joy in learning about and supporting animal welfare. Her home was always full of warmth, paw prints, and love.
Dixie also had a profound way of touching lives—not just through grand gestures, but in the small, everyday moments. She was the neighbor who checked in, the friend who remembered important dates, and the caregiver who gave without expecting anything in return. She had a natural way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved.
As we come to terms with this painful loss, we also recognize the strength she showed throughout her life and the beauty she brought to ours. Dixie Lynn Moore was a light in the lives of so many, and though that light is no longer with us in the same way, it continues to shine in the hearts of those she loved.
In this difficult time, we ask for your support in honoring her final wishes. Whether through kind words, shared memories, or assistance toward the arrangements, your presence and compassion mean the world to her family.
Rest in peace, Dixie.
You gave us laughter, comfort, and love—and we will carry your memory with us always.
