Community Mourns the Loss of Jesse W. Becerra After Fatal Motorcycle Crash

TUCSON, Ariz. –The Tucson community is mourning the tragic loss of Jesse W. Becerra, a 40-year-old man who died following a collision between an off-road motorcycle and a vehicle on June 29, 2025. The crash occurred near the intersection of West Lambert Lane and West Sonoran Sands Lane at approximately 8:16 p.m., according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD).

Emergency personnel responded quickly, and Becerra was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to those injuries on July 1, shortly before 6 p.m., as confirmed by the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner.

According to investigators from the PCSD Traffic Unit, Becerra was riding an off-road motorcycle eastbound on Lambert Lane when he entered the intersection and collided with a passenger vehicle. The motorcycle was not street legal and lacked proper lighting. Authorities also confirmed that Becerra was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated fully with law enforcement. No signs of impairment were detected in either driver, and at this time, no charges have been filed.

Becerra’s death serves as a somber reminder of the risks involved with operating off-road vehicles on public roadways and the importance of safety equipment like helmets. He is remembered by family, friends, and neighbors as someone with a generous heart and a zest for life.

As the investigation continues, PCSD urges anyone with additional information to contact their office. The community extends heartfelt condolences to the Becerra family during this difficult time.
