Shooting in Rockford Sends Man to Hospital With Life-Threatening Injuries, Police Say
ROCKFORD, Ill. ā A man is fighting for his life after a shooting in Rockford on Saturday, according to local police.
Officers with the Rockford Police Department responded to the scene just after 5:30 p.m. following reports of gunfire in a residential neighborhood. When officers arrived, they located an adult male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical crews provided immediate aid at the scene before rushing the man to a nearby hospital. Police say he is currently being treated for life-threatening injuries.
The incident occurred near the 900 block of Acorn Street, though officials have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting or a potential suspect. Investigators were seen canvassing the area and speaking with witnesses throughout the evening.
