London Community Mourns the Sudden Loss of Forest Cliff Camps Executive Director Tyler Shaule

The London, Ontario community is mourning the sudden and tragic loss of Tyler Shaule, Executive Director of Forest Cliff Camps, who died in a car accident on the evening of April 24, 2025. The collision occurred on Highway 401 near the Wellington Road exit.
Tyler, 42, was a lifelong advocate for youth development and Christian camping. His journey with Forest Cliff Camps began as a camper and evolved through roles as a volunteer, counsellor, assistant director, and ultimately, Executive Director. He held certificates in Outdoor Recreation and Biblical Studies from Summit College and earned Bachelor’s degrees in Medical Biophysics and Education from the University of Western Ontario. Before returning to Forest Cliff in 2013, Tyler spent eight years as a secondary teacher with the Thames Valley District School Board. Under Tyler’s leadership, Forest Cliff Camps expanded its reach, hosting over 3,400 children annually at summer and day camps. He was instrumental in developing scholarship programs to ensure that camp experiences were accessible to all children, regardless of financial means. Tyler is survived by his wife, Janet, whom he met at Forest Cliff Camp in 2000, and their three children: Owen, Theodore, and Elliott. His commitment to fostering environments where children and youth could discover themselves and their faith left an indelible mark on the community.
Forest Cliff Camps has expressed profound sorrow over Tyler’s passing, noting his unwavering dedication to the camp’s mission and the countless lives he touched. Details regarding memorial services will be shared by the family in due course.
