In a statement to the press, the Lakeland Police Department acknowledged the seriousness of the situation:
“We are actively investigating this incident and working diligently to determine the circumstances and identify those responsible. We urge anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or has information to come forward and speak with investigators.”
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and authorities have not confirmed whether the incident was targeted or random.
Cali Rose 15 Kitchen, known for its casual atmosphere and live entertainment, was in the middle of a busy evening service when the shooting occurred. Thursday night’s violence has raised concerns among residents and nearby business owners.
“It’s terrifying,” said one neighbor who lives just a few blocks away. “We don’t expect something like this to happen here. Our thoughts are with anyone affected.”
