With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Shane Fontenot, who departed this life on April 22, 2025, at the age of 46. A beloved member of the Opelousas community, Shane leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unforgettable memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Shane was more than a friend, family member, or neighbor—he was a source of light, laughter, and unwavering support. Known for his big heart and genuine nature, he approached life with a quiet strength and compassion that touched everyone around him. Whether through a warm smile, a helping hand, or an encouraging word, Shane had a way of making others feel seen, heard, and valued.
His love for family was evident in everything he did. He was someone you could count on through thick and thin, always willing to step in without hesitation or ask. Shane’s life was a reflection of humility, grace, and steady devotion—values he carried with pride and passed on to those closest to him.
As we prepare to lay Shane to rest, we invite friends, family, and all who were touched by his life to join us for a graveside service on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 9:00 AM, held at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. This will be a time to honor his memory, share stories, and offer comfort to one another in the spirit of love and remembrance.
Though Shane’s physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the bonds he nurtured, the lives he brightened, and the memories he helped create. Let us carry that spirit forward, keeping his kindness and warmth alive in our everyday actions.
