The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department has arrested and charged Johnny Haynes Jr., 44, in connection with the fatal shooting of a young man at the James House Apartments in North St. Louis. Haynes was taken into custody on April 23, 2025, marking a significant development in the ongoing investigation.

The incident occurred earlier this month at the James House Apartments, located in the 4000 block of North 20th Street. Responding officers found the victim with gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been publicly released pending notification of next of kin.
