20-Year-Old Killed in Early Morning Shooting in Chelsea, Police Investigating

CHELSEA, MA — April 26, 2025
A young man was tragically killed in Chelsea early Saturday morning following a shooting that remains under active investigation by local and state authorities.

Shortly after 12:30 AM, Chelsea Police officers were dispatched to the area of 40 Watts Street after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers located a 20-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite immediate life-saving efforts at the scene, the victim was pronounced deceased.

Chelsea Police Detectives, working alongside State Police Detectives assigned to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, are now piecing together the circumstances surrounding the deadly incident. The area around Watts Street remained cordoned off into the morning hours as investigators processed the scene, collected evidence, and canvassed for witnesses.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim pending notification of his family, and no information about potential suspects or a motive has been made public.
